Vasilka Petrova was born in the village Aprilovo, municipality Popovo, in 1942. She graduated high school in the town of Popovo and Teachers' Institute in Shumen. She has worked as a teacher in her native village and in the eighth high school "Vasil Levski" in Sofia. Artistic director of the ensemble for folk songs and dances "Kapantsi" in the village Sadina.
