Iglika Trifonova was born on July 9, 1975 in Sofia. She started taking pictures when she was 16 years-old and has worked for several years as a parliamentary freelance photographer.
Iglika Trifonova has three MAs in Polish Philology, Public Relations and Political Management. She is currently working on a PhD at the Faculty of Journalism of the Sofia University entitled "Photography as a communicative tool"
In the meantime, Iglika works as a photographer and journalist for various newspapers and magazines. Many of her photos have been published by Bulgarian print media as well as by the Spanish sports magazine "Don Balon", the Russian magazine “Ecolife" and the Bulgarian edition of "National Geographic".
In 2006 Iglika Trifonova photographed the 14th Bulgarian expedition t o Antarctica. As a representative of FC CSKA Sofia, she organized the First International Football Match in Antarctica – between the polar teams of Bulgaria and Spain, whose patron was CSKA.
Iglika Trifonova has four individual photo exhibitions – in Bulgaria and Russia, and has taken part in six other photography and painting exhibits of various artists.
In 1993 she won the Best Bulgarian Photograph of the Year Award, and in 1998 she was awarded a prize for young painters. She is a member of the Union of Bulgarian Journalists and the Bulgarian Antarctic Institute.
