Dimitar Vladev has been teaching Geology and Geomorphology at Konstantin Preslavsky University of Shumen since 1995 year. He has got a PhD degree in Geology and Paleogeography. He graduated from D. Mikhailov Teacher-Training Institute with a major in History and Geography in 1985. In 1988 he graduated from St. Kliment Ohridsky University of Sofia with a major in Organization and Management; in 1995 he graduated from St Kliment Ohridsky University of Sofia as a geographer, geomorphologist and cartographer and a teacher in Geography. In 1995 he graduated from St Kliment Ohridsky University of Sofia with a major in Journalism with a specialization in Television. From 1989 till 1991 he worked at St Kliment Ohridsky University of Sofia Research Centre as a specialist-geomorphologist in teams doing hydrological and hydrogeological research. From 1992 till 1995 he worked in a private publishing company in Sofia and as an editor in Market Express, Evening News and some other newspapers. In 1998-2002 he was a director, cameraman and script-writer in the Geography Passport TV programme at TOP-TV; an author and co-author of 52 informative films. He has more than 60 academic works, including 2 textbooks (in co-authorship) and 2 manuals. He has been supervisor to 24 graduate students. His academic interests are in the fields of: Paleogeography, Structural Geography and Geomorphology; unfavourable and dangerous geomorphological processes; cartography, distant geomorphological research of the Earth, etc.
